Updated country style garden in contemporary, urban setting. The glass doors on two sides of the kitchen extension open onto the garden. The courtyard wraps around the side of the house with gate to keep dog out of main garden.
This large garden was designed around many existing trees which were important to the client for shade and privacy. The colourful, sculptural planting at the front provides a focus from the dining room and kitchen as well as from the main patio.
A path leads from the seating area to the studio. Sawn paving and crisp rendered walls emphasize the bold lines of this design. The planting softens the effect, adding texture and contrasting shades of foliage.
The strip of paving outside the kitchen was opened out by digging out part of the raised bed. The existing retaining wall was extended around the paving to create an area for entertaining. The planting brings the space to life.
Garden design London | Clapton
This large garden had an existing raised bed at the front built with cheap bricks which looked out of place for a period property of London stock. We rendered the bricks and added coping stones to match the large patio beside the kitchen allowing easy access for dining out.
We extended the existing brick paving and added matching raised beds. Cedar trellis provides privacy to the walled garden and a bikestore keeps the space tidy.
A dining area was designed to accomodate large family gatherings. The lawn allows for children to play out all year round. Drainage was constructed beneath the lawn to prevent it becoming waterlogged in winter.
This insulated garden shed creates an attractive feature and a retreat as well as spare room for extra guests. It opens onto a deck of Western Red Cedar to match the fence. The low raised beds allow this colourful planting on shallow, chalk soil.
Our gardens are designed to improve with age and are built to last. The style and materials create a seamless transition from the interior design. Retaining features and reusing materials that work with the design makes landscaping kind to the environment and also saves the client money. A well planned project creates less waste.
