Garden design Finchley

Garden design FinchleyHPORTFOLIO

There were so many trees in this garden that the lawn was bare. Many trees were from an old orchard and still produced good fruit. The first task was to do a tree survey and decide which should be removed or pruned. Once this had been decided we arranged for a tree surgeon to do the work.

Once we had a good idea of the amount of light and where it reached the ground, we could knew where the lawn could be placed in the design. The style was informal with naturalistic planting. Towards the back more grasses and taller perennials were included in the planting to create a wilder area with more of a country feel.

Large raised beds at the front allow for a discreet change in level and also allow for colourful sun loving plants closer to the house.
